In our continued commitment to local business and the environment, AVAQMD is excited to offer grants towards the replacement of perchloroethylene based dry cleaning equipment.

Our grant program offers $5,000 to convert from chemical based perchloroethylene equipment to environmentally friendly, professional wet cleaning equipment.

The AVAQMD grant of $5,000 can be combined with the CARB grant of $10,000 (http://www.arb.ca.gov/toxics/dryclean/dryclean.htm) or may be used individually. There are a limited number of grants available, and grants will be distributed on a first come first served basis.

Grant recipients will receive assistance in selection and installation of wet cleaning equipment and in developing a marketing plan geared towards advertising their business as environmentally friendly.

Recipients of the AVAQMD grant must agree to become a demonstration site and showcase these new cleaning methods.
